Adding and switching between languages

Overview

Lexxio can hold up to 10 languages at once, each one its own workspace: its own books, saved words, reading level, and settings covered in Global vs. per-language settings. You switch between them from a pill in the title bar.

The workspace pill

The pill shows your current language, with a colored dot matching that workspace's accent color (more on that in Changing the app's look). Click it to open a menu where you can switch to another workspace, rename one, delete one, or add a new one.

Adding a language

A workspace's language and locale are fixed once you create it. There's no in-app way to change what language an existing workspace points to, so if you want to start learning something new, you add a new workspace rather than editing one you already have.

Adding a second workspace requires an active plan. The free tier is limited to one language at a time. See Lexxio's plans explained for what each plan includes.

Keyboard shortcuts (desktop)

• Cmd/Ctrl+1 through Cmd/Ctrl+9 jump straight to a workspace by its position in the list.
• Cmd/Ctrl+K opens the switcher menu. On a Mac, that combination is already taken by a system shortcut, so it won't do anything there.

Deleting a workspace

Deleting a workspace is permanent: it removes that language's books and saved words along with it. Because of that, you'll be asked to type a confirmation phrase before it goes through.
