Themes
Nine themes, eight highlight colors.
Warm paper for a long evening, near-black for a dark room, or whatever your system is already set to. The highlight color runs through the whole app, not just the page.

Reading a translation beside an original is a layout problem before it is a language problem, so the controls go further than a font size slider.
Size and spacing
Text size and line height, set independently, so you can open the lines up without inflating the letters.
Background tint
A tint behind the text, for people who find a white page harder work than a warm one.
How far the original fades
Fade the original out and hover to bring it back. The amount it fades, the color it fades to, and how deep the blur goes are all yours to set.
High contrast, and two faces drawn for it
It is not pretty. It is legible.
Two of the ten reader fonts, OpenDyslexic and Atkinson Hyperlegible, were drawn to stop similar letters being mistaken for one another. Those two, and only those two, can take over the entire app rather than just the book. Turn on high contrast alongside them and every surface goes hard: solid fills instead of frosted glass, stronger borders, no translucency to soften an edge.
We are not going to pretend that is the version we would put on a poster. That is the point. Nobody should have to choose between an app that looks good and an app they can read.
Both faces are bundled. Nothing to download, nothing to install on your system.
