Lexxio wasn't built to translate books.
It was built to get you to the last page.

Most tools hand you a translation and leave. Lexxio starts you at Simple, where the story is readable today, reads it aloud, drills what you missed, and moves you up a level at a time until you are reading the book at Faithful, in the author's own sentences.

01Start

Start where you are.

A short placement quiz finds your level and hands you a book you can read today. Starting from zero? Basics takes you from your first word to your first book: a thousand words in two parts, five hundred to the first book, a story in nearly every unit.

  • Eight beginner languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.
  • Every word arrives as a picture and a voice. Your own language waits behind a tap.

02Read

Read the real thing, at your level.

Any book, translated to where you are: Simple when you start, Faithful when you are ready, and the author’s own sentences underneath the whole way. Tap what trips you up for the original, the audio, or an easier version.

  • Lexxio Originals: fiction written for learners, graded Simple to Faithful, with a real ending.
  • A free library of 70,000+ public domain books, or any EPUB you own.
  • Native-quality read-aloud on every page.

The translation, the explanations, Talk and pronunciation are AI. The books are not. Every title in the library is a real book, and every Original is written by a person.

03Review

One deck, fed by everything.

Every serious flashcard app asks you to make the cards, and that is the part that kills the habit. In Lexxio the deck builds itself. Tap a word in a book, pass a Basics lesson, miss a verb form, meet a stretch word in Talk, and a card arrives with the meaning, the audio and the sentence it came from already on the back.

  • More than one kind of card. A picture to name, a blank to fill inside the sentence you met the word in, a word to say out loud and be scored on, the English first so you have to produce it, and dictation for what you hear.
  • One schedule for all of them. Spaced repetition decides what comes up and when. You just answer.
  • Every word remembers where it came from, and you can export to Anki any time if you would rather.

04Speak

Say it to someone.

Walk into a café or a taxi and talk. Someone is there, they speak first, and they answer out loud at your level, using only words you have met. Twenty characters, each with a face, a manner and a bit of history. Or set your own scene: what to talk about, where, and who they are to you.

  • Twenty characters with their own manner and history. They hold opinions, remember what you told them, and keep to tú or usted the whole way through.
  • Your own topic: a subject, a place, a friend or a stranger or your landlord, and the person you want across the table. A saved scene comes back with the same face.
  • Pronunciation check hears which sounds slip, word by word, and Coach folds all of it into one session sized to the time you have today.
