For families
See where they are stuck, so you can help.
Supervised mode was built for a parent who wanted more than to hand a kid an app and hope. It shows you what is landing and what is not, and keeps the settings where you put them.
How it works
Three steps, then they are reading.
Turn on supervised mode
One switch in settings. Everything a student needs in order to read and practise stays exactly where it was.
Choose a PIN
Four to eight digits. It covers the settings, your backups, the pass mark, and the switch itself.
Hand over the book
They read. You check the numbers when you want them, and print a report when somebody asks for one.
What you can see
The shape of how it is going.
Progress at a glance
Time spent reading, time spent listening, sessions, daily goals, and the streak they are trying not to break. Set the goal at five, ten, fifteen, or twenty minutes a day.
Where they need help
Quiz scores, the words they keep looking up, the ones marked as trouble, and how the conjugation drills are going. You can see the shape of what is not sticking, not just the hours.
Reports you can hand in
Export a PDF covering activity, lookups, quizzes, notes and lessons, vocabulary, conjugation, and books read. Choose the last week, month, year, or all time, add the student's name, and reorder the sections to suit.
Settings stay put
The PIN covers the app's settings, your backups, and the supervised switch itself. Deleting a book, and adding or removing a language, need it too. Switching between languages does not, because that is just getting around the app.
The pass mark holds
You set the score a chapter quiz needs to pass. It sits behind the PIN, so nobody can quietly lower the bar to get through.
Locks itself back up
An unlocked session ends after a minute of no activity, and after ten minutes regardless, so a PIN typed once in the morning is not still open at bedtime.
Supervised mode is a deterrent, not a security boundary. Someone with access to the computer's files can work around it.
Be first through the door.
